Changing your mind about one of our PCs
If you bought a PC sold by AS Computers online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you 14 days to cancel. The 14 days start the day after you receive it (or collect it).
- Tell us within 14 days. Use our contact form, email info@ascomputers.co.uk, or send the cancellation form below. Include your order number.
- Send the PC back (or return it to us in person, if we agree) within 14 days of telling us, with its power cable and anything else that came with it. Pack it well - it's your responsibility until it reaches us. Unless the PC is faulty, you pay the cost of returning it.
- We refund you within 14 days of receiving it back (or of you showing proof you sent it, if earlier). We refund the price and the standard delivery charge you paid.
You can look at and switch on the PC as you would in a shop. If it's been handled more than that - for example it's damaged, has had parts changed, or is missing accessories - we may reduce your refund to reflect the drop in its value.
Faulty PCs from us
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, PCs we sell must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
- Up to 30 days: if it's faulty, you can reject it and get a full refund.
- Up to 6 months: you're entitled to a repair or replacement. If that fails, or isn't possible, you can have a refund. We assume the fault was there when you got it unless we can show otherwise.
- Up to 6 years (5 in Scotland): you may still be entitled to a repair, replacement or partial refund, but you may need to show the fault was there from the start.
We pay reasonable costs of returning a faulty PC. Contact us first so we can help and arrange it.
Our 6-month warranty
On top of your legal rights, PCs we build or sell from our own stock come with a 6-month warranty from the day you receive them. We'll repair or replace faulty parts and fix any problems with our workmanship, free of charge.
The warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, overclocking, parts you've added or changed, normal wear, or software and viruses. To claim, contact us with your order number and a description of the problem.
Custom builds
A custom build is made to your specification, so you can't cancel for a change of mind once we've started building it. Before that, you can cancel and get back anything you've paid. If a custom build is faulty, you have all the rights described under Faulty PCs, and our warranty applies.
PCs from private sellers
Marketplace PCs are sold by private individuals, not businesses, so the 14-day right to cancel and the Consumer Rights Act rights for business sales don't apply. The seller must still describe the PC accurately.
To protect you, we hold the payment until you've got the PC (our buyer protection):
- If the PC doesn't arrive, arrives damaged, or is significantly different from the listing, contact us before you confirm you've received it. The sale confirms itself 14 days after it's sent, so please don't wait.
- If we agree it isn't as described, we'll arrange for it to go back to the seller and refund you.
- If the seller doesn't send or hand it over in time, the sale is cancelled and you're refunded automatically.
PCs we sell for their owners
These PCs belong to private owners and are collected from them. When you collect:
- Take your time to look at the PC and switch it on.
- If it's as described, give the owner your 6-digit collection code. This completes the sale.
- If it isn't as described, don't give them the code. Tell us and we'll cancel the sale and refund you in full.
After you've handed over your code, the sale is complete. If you then find a problem that you couldn't reasonably have spotted at collection, contact us and we'll help.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the card or payment method you used, through our payment provider Stripe. They usually show in your account within 5-10 working days of us making them. We don't charge any fee for refunds.
